how to add a disk to freebsd

the new way

gpart delete #only if needed

gpart create -s gpt da1
gpart add -t freebsd-ufs -a 1M da1
gpart show da1
newfs -U /dev/da1a

figure out which device to work on:

fbsd11 ~ $ less '+/ugen.*usbus' /var/log/messages
